For almost two decades, pro clima Australia has invested in building science education, helping architects, builders, designers, and tradespeople build healthier, more durable and more energy-efficient buildings.
That commitment was reflected in Australia's first Certified Passive House project, where pro clima supplied the airtightness and weathertightness systems and provided hands-on technical support. It demonstrated that high-performance buildings are achieved through the combination of proven systems and skilled professionals.
The scholarships cover the cost of approved Passive House training, giving building professionals the opportunity to become certified Passive House experts and help to grow Australia's capability in high-performance building.

Passivhaus: A Global Standard
Passivhaus, also known as Passive House, is an approach to sustainable building design that prioritises occupant comfort, energy efficiency, and environmental responsibility. Originating in Germany, this innovative standard has since gained global recognition for its holistic approach to creating high-performance buildings.
At its heart are five key principles that guide the design and construction of these durable, healthy buildings: excellent insulation, airtightness, heat recovery ventilation, high-performance doors and windows, minimising thermal bridges.
Germany remains at the centre of this story, home to both the Passive House Institute and the headquarters of pro clima, whose products, like Passive House itself, are now relevant around the world.
2026 Scholarship
pro clima offers three Passive House scholarships, each suited to a different stage of the Passive House journey.
The Passivhaus Fundamentals Scholarship covers the cost of the Passivhaus Fundamentals course for building professionals who are new to Passive House and want to build a strong foundation in high-performance building.
The Certified Passive House Designer Scholarship covers the cost of the Certified Designer/Consultant course for those who want to learn how to plan and design Passive House buildings.
The Certified Passive House Tradesperson Scholarship covers the cost of the Tradesperson course for those who deliver Passive House projects on site, teaching the practical construction skills needed to meet the standard.
A single round of scholarships is available for 2026. Successful recipients can choose their preferred Australian Passive House education provider, and pro clima Australia Pty Ltd will provide a full subsidy for the course, and the externally assessed exam where applicable, once enrolment is confirmed.

How to apply
The application process is simple.
1. Choose your scholarship
Select the scholarship that best matches your experience and career goals.
2. Tell us about yourself
Complete a short application form with some basic information about your experience, your current role and why you want to develop your Passive House knowledge.
3. Your application question
Each scholarship has a different question designed to understand your knowledge, motivation and how you might apply what you learn.
You can submit your response as a short video, written response, images, drawings, diagrams or a combination. Choose the format that best allows you to tell your story.
4. Submit your application
Submit your application online before the closing date.
Applications will be assessed based on your understanding, motivation, relevance to your role, practical application and ability to communicate your ideas

Eligibility
To be eligible for a pro clima Passive House Scholarship, an applicant must be:
1. Physically located in Australia,
2. Legally entitled to work in Australia and
3. The successful scholarship recipient must enrol in the approved Passive House training course by 30 June 2027 and complete the course by 31 December 2027.
